I was out walking today and it was a beautiful winter day. The sun was out and birds were singing albeit the temperature was quite cool. As I was walking this verse kept resounding in my mind:
“I will restore the years that the chewing locust has eaten” (Joel 2:25).
If you are anything like me you may have lost much time due to fret, worry, anxiety or brokenness. However this verse reminds me of the Lord’s faithfulness that he will restore us and restore the time that was lost. How amazing!
Sometimes we are plagued by thoughts of lost and broken dreams, mistakes, and past failures. There is nothing that is too far gone for God to restore. Mental l health issues are rife in the society and the answer to these is found in Psalm 23:3 “He restores my soul.”
Your soul may feel broken, worried, filled with anxiety, depressed but God is a God of hope and “hope does not disappoint” (Romans 5:5). No matter how you are feeling have faith that God is right there with you, holding your hand and saying to you “do not fear I will help you” (Isaiah 41:13).
