There’s something beautiful about the dawn. The light is soft and alluring with beautiful pink and orange tones. The birds sing in hope and anticipation of a new day and all that it will bring. I love being awake at this time, before the hustle and bustle of the day begins. It is a time of rest and quiet contemplation.
Sitting here listening to the Crowder song “My Beloved”, I am just letting the lyrics wash over me and resound throughout the house:
“There is a sun coming up in my soul Lord, in my soul
I see the light, I see the light”
Listening to this song I am reminded of the scripture that states: “The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that grows brighter until the full light of day.” (Proverbs 4:18).
This brings hope deep down to my soul. Each day brings a new brightness and a chance to leave behind all those things which so easily drag us down. Negative thoughts and attitudes can so easily creep in. Focusing on ourselves and our failures never brings peace, hope and rest.
Each day we need to “lift our eyes to the hills from whence comes our help, our help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1)
It is He who lifts us up out of our troubles. It is He who keeps our foot from stumbling. It is He who will complete the deep healing down in our hearts if we will just let Him in and trust Him.
Just let the words of this song get deep down into your soul:
“No more sorrow, no more pain
No more darkness weighing down on me
No longer blind now I can see
Forever light, forever free”
